The League of Women Voters of Clark County:

• encourages the continued appropriate use of alternative Courts. We also encourage the Courts to continue on-going evaluations to determine program effectiveness.
• encourages education of the Community to increase awareness of the siting, land use and housing issues regarding Adult and Juvenile sex offenders.
• encourages and supports partnerships with Law and Justice, the schools, community and social services in order to increase effectiveness and maximize resources.
• supports early intervention for Juveniles.
• supports a balanced approach of adequate facilities and the use of alternatives to incarceration for adults and juveniles where appropriate.
• encourages regular review of indigent defense services to determine effectiveness with emphasis on adequate levels of service and funding.
• encourages the State to fund on going treatment requirements for Court mandated programs.
• encourages Law and Justice programs to evaluate their effectiveness on an on going basis.
• encourages the continued support for the advancement of Victims Rights.
