Skagit League On-line

Here's hoping that this year it is March showers that will give way to April flowers. Celebrate spring by attending the following League related activities.

Save Saturday, May 3rd for the Annual Skagit LWV meeting, 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM Details TBA soon.

April 14 - 5:30 PM at the Mount Baker Middle School - presentation concerning the Skagit County Jail. League has been invited to attend. Salads and sandwiches will be provided. RSVP to nbj@ponderroses.com or call me at 873-2210 by Wednesday, April 9th.

April 15 - 10:30 until 12:30 -The State League Transportation Committee will meet at the Skagit Transportation Center in Mount Vernon. It will be a "brown bag" lunch so bring what you'd like to eat and drink. The discussion will be lead by Martha Rose, Director of Island Transit and Dale O'Brien, Director of Skagit Transit. Barbara Seitle told us that Senator Mary Margaret Haugen would like to be at the meeting and we are hoping her schedule will allow her visit. Please make time in your busy day to attend this very important meeting.

April 16 - 1:30 PM - Skagit League meets at Heritage Place -(104 Heritage Place - just off W. Fairhaven in Burlington), at 1:30 PM. Our primary topic will be the PSE Buyout and the role of the Skagit PUD.

April 17 - 7 PM - AWARE (A Working Alliance for Rural Equality) Community Forum at the Concrete Senior Center, topic: Should Our Public Utility be Electrical Provider? Representative from the PUD will be the presenter.

April 26 - 1:30 - 4:40 PM - Universal Health Care Forum at the New Everett Theatre - details and directions will be emailed/mailed soon. Skagit League is a co-sponsor. Please plan to attend.

April 27 - Noon - 5 PM - Burlington High School- Community Gathering topic "Equal Voices."

Again - May 3rd LWV Skagit Annual Meeting!
