Mission

The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government and influences public policy through education and advocacy.

OUR VISION

Meetings

Membership meetings are held during the year as county general meetings or local unit meetings. Agendas and minutes of board meetings are emailed to board members.

I. General Meetings

General meetings are held for all voters as informational meetings covering program issues, voter service, and action items. These meetings are often used as an opportunity to educate the public on specific issues of interest to the public at large. These are usually held at the P.U.D., 2320 California Avenue, Everett. Check the Voter for exact dates, times, and location.

II. Unit Meetings

Units were formed so that our members could have meetings in their own geographical area. There are three units.

  1. South Unit

The geographical area covers Edmonds, Lynnwood, Brier, Mountlake Terrace, Mill Creek, and other south county areas. Contact is Rowena Miller, leader of the South Unit.

  2. Central Unit

The geographical area covers Everett, Lake Stevens, Snohomish, Monroe, Mukilteo, and other central county areas. Contact is Rita Durand, leader of the Central Unit.

  3. North Unit

The geographical area covers north county, including Arlington, Stanwood, Marysville, Granite Falls, and Darrington. Contact is Marian Harrison, leader of the North Unit.

III. Board Meetings

Board meetings, open to all members, are regularly scheduled at 9:45am on the first Thursday of each month at the Snohomish County Economic Development Center. The agenda, exact dates, and location of board meetings can be found in the Voter, or call the president of the board. The board also holds a retreat sometime during the summer to plan the next year's calendar of League events.
