It’s time to gear up for Action!

How do you want to make your voice heard in Olympia in the 2020 legislative session?

Attend and hear:

Opening panel on “Money in Politics” --Rep. Mike Pellicciotti, 30th LD, and Judge Anne Levinson (Ret.), member and former Chair Public Disclosure Commission.

Keynote - Seattle City Councilmember Lorena González will keynote the session, addressing the threat of corruption in our elections. 

Voting Justice & Communities of Color panel: Joseph Lachman, Civic Engagement Program Manager, Asian Counseling and Referral Service; Guillermo Rogel, Jr, Executive Director, Washington Student Association; and Óskar Zambrano Méndez, Director of Civic Engagement & Advocacy, Latino Community Fund of Washington.  Heather Kelly, LWV Seattle-King Co Action Chair, will moderate.

The following breakout sessions will feature LWVWA Lobby Team Issue Chairs:

  • Elections and Campaign Finance, Census and Redistricting Election Security: Kathy Sakahara, Alison McCaffree & Kirsten Mueller 
  • Social Justice: Deb Carstens & Heather Kelly (Criminal Justice), Pat Griffith (Gun Safety)
  • Natural Resources & Climate Change: Marty Gibbins & Raelene Gold
  • Revenue, Transportation, Homelessness: Cynthia Stewart & Education: Catherine Ahl

Action Workshops include speaker and panel presentations, issue break out sessions, and lunch. Lunch and all materials are included in the registration fee. On-site/day-of registration fee will increase to $40.
